About the Painting
The Yangtze River Dolphin, Chinese River Dolphin or Baiji once was a common site in China’s Yangtze River, yet while in the 1950s there were approximately 6,000 animals, the last possible sighting was in 2007. The species is today functionally extinct, with only a few photos and videos by which to remember it.
I am deeply saddened that this is just one of so many species that have gone extinct in my lifetime.
